Ladder Loom began over 15 years ago, not as a business, but as the favorite pastime of a young woman with a natural gift for writing and sharing advice.

Kenzie Snowdon started by helping friends with their college applications, offering advice, and refining their essays. Back then, her support wasn’t limited to academic matters—she was also the go-to person for navigating challenging conversations. In fact, she was even known to draft their break-up texts...on more than one occasion. 

​

As time passed, those conversations evolved into helping with internship applications, scholarship statements, and later, job searches. 

 

When Kenzie and her friends graduated from college, she faced a new challenge: helping them land jobs. It was her way of being a good friend-- helping those she cared about climb the career ladder to their desired destinations.

This journey led her to pursue a career in Technical Recruiting, where she has spent the past 8 years reviewing thousands of resumes, connecting with hiring managers, and conducting interviews. 

​

After a particularly busy week where her resume advice helped one friend secure a role at Apple, another at Microsoft, and a third at Meta, Kenzie realized that her passion for helping others could become something more. 

​

Encouraged by her newly employed friends, she decided to turn her passion into a business venture. 

​

Initially, the idea of charging for something she genuinely enjoyed seemed silly, but she quickly recognized, after some convincing from her friends, that offering professional resume writing, career coaching, and consulting services could allow her to maintain her passion, while bringing balance to her life.

When Kenzie isn’t helping clients craft compelling resumes, prep for interviews, or update their LinkedIn profiles, she turns to her fiber arts hobby, weaving tapestries and other creations. 

 

The ladder in the Ladder Loom brand symbolizes the upward trajectory Kenzie hopes to instill in all her clients, while the loom reflects the creativity and dedication she brings to weaving together personalized career plans.
